If I had the opportunity to be something other than an artist, I would choose to be an archeologist or a geologist. They connect us to the past and our beginnings. As a child I use to walk through freshly plowed fields in North Carolina with my family looking for Indian artifacts. This past summer while walking Mt. Diablo, I came upon several shell fossils. It's fascinating to me that I can walk in a place that has origins approximately 200 million years ago and still find these tiny treasures encased in rock and dirt. In case you think you've see this one before, you probably have. I've been working on this triptych for quite awhile and keep making changes. But I'm done now...at least for the time being.
