I went to a lecture at Berkeley not too long ago and heard some artists discuss some of their techniques. One artist said he would take post cards that come in the mail, gesso them and paint. So that's what I've done with this pen&ink. I put gesso on all the images on a post card, except for a pair of tortoise shell glasses, and built the face around them.

The word "shine" has come to my attention several times lately. I thought about how I would paint it. This is my second face for the Joanie Face Challenge.
