Almost twenty years of living in the Bay area and there is still so much to be discovered. When I go to San Francisco I usually find myself walking. Urban hikes in the city are full of stairsteps descending down to the water, upwards through gardens and of course, in and around skyscrapers. There are great points of view looking down on Victorian rooftops or looking up to lofty rectangular prisms. I might be lucky enough to see the Farallon Islands in one directions and the old Clairmont Hotel in the other with a few bridges in between. Hills, hills everywhere and if you walk them, your experience will be enhanced (great exercise too!). This painting is about those hillside rambles.
