Charlie and I took a week to visit Kauai this past October. It was a grand time hiking parts of the Napali Coast and strolling almost deserted beaches. I took my traveling "art pack" and got to do a few watercolors in my journal. The tropical foliage was beautiful and certainly was an influence in this painting. I also collected sun bleached pods while there. Fall had arrived when we returned home so maple and sycamore leaves were everywhere so you might see a few of those pods and an acorn or two.
Color: I've always loved the color red, but have found that a small amount goes a long way. I'm affected by the seasons with color so oranges, ochres and red seem to be showing up more lately. The blues and greens of Hawaii still in my thoughts so decided to combine the two! Title: Red Table Medium: Acrylic on Canvas Size: 36" x 24"
